Position Description

Reporting directly to the Finance and Group Strategy Director, this new and exciting role has been created to lead the delivery and management of financial reporting for group and UK statutory purposes.

You’ll lead a team comprising of 2 direct reports; a Finance Manager and a Financial Accountant as well as a team of circa 8 Finance professionals to manage processes in relation to corporation tax, VAT and statutory reporting, accounting and compliance.

You’ll also lead the accounting and processing of transactions in General Ledger and source ledgers, together with associated transaction based taxes. You’ll also be responsible for managing and maintaining financial controls to ensure business compliance and adherence to statutory and regulatory financial requirements.

You’ll lead on cash flow management through the Financial Accountant – producing daily cash balances and daily / monthly cash-flow forecasts as well as proposals for dividend declarations for approval by Group Treasury and the Company’s directors.

Required Experience

To be a success in this role you’ll need to have:

• A relevant professional accounting qualification
• Extensive experience of working in a financial accountancy role
• Management reporting skills and experience
• Strong commercial acumen
• Knowledge of financial systems (e.g. Oracle, Business Objects, Cognos & Longview)
• Knowledge of Corporation Tax requirements and regulations
• Advanced numeracy and MS Excel skills
• Broad knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley reporting is desirable, as is the knowledge of complex VAT calculations
