Employment Type Full Time

Position Description

It is an exciting time to join Interflora Florist Services. Last year, we launched our new ‘Regional Team’ structure meaning we are operating even more efficiently, providing the best service possible to our customers. We have also launched the Floristry Trade Club with a mission to be the hub for the floristry industry, providing a dedicated, florist-focused information and support service which helps florists to develop their careers, skills and businesses whilst supporting the industry as a whole. All of these exciting changes on top of our already great florist offering means we are best placed to generate new customers and grow existing accounts – this is where you come in!

As part of our Regional Team structure, we have a vacancy to fill as a Business Development Manager covering Scotland. You’ll need to live somewhere within the region and be happy traveling across it on a regular basis. A company car, laptop and phone are all provided.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for increasing sales from both new customer acquisitions as well as generating additional sales by growing existing customer accounts. You’ll have a dedicated region-focused support team to help you deliver success – they’ll handle the general customer account queries and provide an ongoing professional service to the Florist customers in your region, whereas you’ll be the main point of contact for the largest ‘key’ accounts. You’ll ensure regular delivery of new business to meet targets – ultimately, you’ll be accountable for both the Regional Team’s targets as well as your own personal targets.

This role is a focused sales role with 80% of your time dedicated to increasing the customer base across our Florist and Non-Florist partners and achieving revenue targets. You’ll also get to devote time to developing and managing a florist community within your region, being the voice of that regional group within our business.

Required Experience

This really is a role for an experienced salesperson that is looking for their next challenge. To perform well in the role, we would expect you to have:

• A proven track record of sales success and of generating new business
• The ability and discipline to work autonomously and effectively plan your own time
• A drive to get results
• A successful track-record of managing and growing existing key accounts
• Experience of selling business to business (the selling of memberships, websites or software is advantageous)
• Outstanding relationship building skills – both with customers and internal teams
• Experience of working within a team structure and sharing common goals
• Analytical skills and commercial acumen.

Salary and Benefits

Our colleagues benefit from the attractive benefits you'd expect to see in a professional and successful organisation, such as; generous holiday allowances, a company pension scheme, health insurance, bonus schemes and staff discounts - but they also benefit hugely from working in a friendly, supportive and flexible environment, where not only are they treated as a professional but also as a member of the Interflora 'family'.

We also treat our colleagues to a variety of ‘peak-treats’ such as pizza, sweets and bacon sandwiches to get everyone motivated and ensure they feel refreshed through our 3 busiest periods of Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day - even the tea, coffee and biscuits are free! We also offer healthy alternatives such as fruit, which gets delivered directly to our offices three times a week.

We love to spoil our staff as well and make them feel loved on their special days - each new starter gets a beautiful Interflora bouquet to say “Hello and welcome” on their first day and every colleague is treated to another bouquet on their birthday!
